The UWFPP strongly condemns the criminal act carried out today, June 9, 2025, by the Nazi Israeli forces, in intercepting and kidnapping the Madelene ship, part of the Freedom Flotilla coalition. The ship was en route to the besieged Gaza Strip, carrying peace activists and humanitarian aid intended for the residents of Gaza, who continue to suffer under a suffocating blockade and severe humanitarian conditions.
This blatant assault on a civilian vessel and peaceful activists—whose sole mission is to deliver a humanitarian message, medicines, and relief supplies—constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and United Nations resolutions that call for an end to the blockade on Gaza and guarantee the freedom of navigation and humanitarian work.
The kidnapping of peaceful activists is a form of organized piracy that contradicts human values and international legal principles. It reflects the Israeli occupation’s persistent aggression toward the Palestinian people and toward all who stand in solidarity with them.
We call on labor unions, liberation movements around the world, and the international community—especially the United Nations, the European Union, and global human rights organizations—to take a clear and firm stance against these violations. We urge them to press for the immediate and unconditional release of all those kidnapped and to ensure the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid to its rightful recipients.
We affirm that such attacks will not deter labor, liberation, and humanitarian forces from supporting the legitimate Palestinian right to freedom and dignity. Nor will they silence the voices of those who reject injustice and continue to struggle for an end to the military campaign of the Nazi Israeli state and the bully policies directly supported by the United States of America.
