To Pressure for the Lifting of the Siege on Two Million People in Gaza
The United Workers’ Front for the Defense of the Palestinian People, comprising thirty-three labor unions and organizations from fourteen countries across the Middle East, reaches out to you today—as part of the global labor movement—to appeal to your class and human conscience.
You are witnessing one of the most heinous contemporary humanitarian crimes: the systematic and deadly siege imposed on over two million people in the Gaza Strip.
This blockade, enforced by the Israeli occupation state with direct support from the United States and the shameful silence of your governments, has gone beyond collective punishment. It has become a tool of slow extermination. The people face starvation, thirst, and a total collapse of health and public services. Children are dying from hunger. The wounded perish due to a lack of medicine. Workers are deprived of the most basic necessities of life.
We call on you to raise your voices against your governments and to exercise every form of political, trade union, and media pressure to:
Immediately lift the siege on Gaza and open the crossings to allow the entry of food, water, and medicine.
Condemn and criminalize the fascist policies of the Israeli occupation state against civilians.
Halt Israel’s ongoing fascist military campaign on what remains of life in Gaza.
Show practical solidarity with workers and labor organizations in Gaza, and amplify their voices in international forums.
Push to end the export of weapons and military aid to Israel that are used to slaughter the innocent.
We appeal to your class and human conscience, and remind you that workers’ solidarity knows no borders. We all stand united in the same trench against exploitation, war, and oppression.
Raise your voices. Apply pressure. Save millions of lives.
With solidarity and respect,
Samir Adil
