Secretary of the Political Bureau of the Palestinian Popular Struggle Front
General Secretary of the Palestinian Struggle Workers Union
Tokyo, Japan – July 27, 2025
In the name of the steadfast Palestinian people, in the name of my comrades in the Palestinian Popular Struggle Front and the Palestinian Struggle Workers Union, and in the name of those who face the most brutal colonial war machine of our time with nothing but their bare chests, I send you a militant greeting from the heart of the wound—from besieged Gaza, from unbending Jerusalem, and from every village, city, and refugee camp that bears witness to this eternal truth: the will of the people cannot be defeated.
Allow me, at the outset of my remarks, to extend my deep thanks and appreciation to the organizers of this international conference in Japan—a country whose people and rich humanitarian history we deeply respect, and whose unwavering commitment to the values of peace and justice we highly regard.
The very convening of this conference, at a time when our people are enduring a systematic campaign of genocide, is in itself a form of civil resistance and genuine international solidarity.
Dear friends,
In Gaza, massacres are not only measured by numbers—they are felt in broken hearts, in homes demolished over their residents, and in dreams bombed before they are born. Yet despite all this, the Palestinian people have not raised the white flag. Instead, they have chosen the path of steadfastness and civil resistance, alongside all other forms of struggle.
When popular marches erupt, when the streets of the West Bank echo with chants, and when fathers take to the streets with their children holding signs that read, “We are not numbers”—that is resistance.
When a young woman from Jenin refugee camp writes her daily testimony on a digital platform—that is resistance.
And when universities around the world rise up, ports refuse to ship weapons, and students, workers, artists, and intellectuals unite against oppression—this is the resistance we believe in: the resistance of living, breathing peoples.
Comrades ,
Our Palestinian struggle is not a local issue—it is a global human test. A test of international justice, of human conscience, and of the very charter of nations born from the ashes of war and genocide. And I say to you today, with both pain and confidence: Palestine is bleeding, but it does not surrender.
We are not asking for the impossible. We are asking for what every free human being demands:
That our people live in freedom and dignity on their land.
That the killing hands be lifted off our children.
That the decades of occupation, colonization, and apartheid come to an end.
And that the international community and its institutions play a clear and effective role—not words without action.
Comrades and friends,
Your presence here—your voices, this very conference—are a powerful source of support for us.
You are redefining solidarity not as a feeling, but as a concrete force against genocide and global silence.
For that, I salute you all, especially the organizers, institutions, and partners who insisted that Palestine remain at the heart of the global conscience.
In closing, we reaffirm our commitment to struggle by all legitimate means. We renew our faith in the unity of peoples’ resistance, and we believe that freedom is coming—no matter how deep the darkness.
From Palestine, from its wounded but steadfast people: a thousand salutes to you all, and eternal peace to the souls of the victims in Gaza and throughout Palestine.
Long live the peoples’ resistance. Long live free Palestine. Long live international solidarity.
